Attractions and Activities in Schladming

Summer sports
Schladming has a wide variety to offer: paragliding, rafting, canyoning, a tightrope park and climbing are just a few to mention. 200 km/124 miles mountain bike trails, marked mountain bike down hill tracks (4.5 km/2.8 miles and 1000 m/3281 ft change in altitude) are a true challenge for every mountain biker. Rent a bike and explore the surroundings on two wheels.

490 km/305 miles hiking paths are at your disposal. More than 40 km/25 miles of these paths are also perfect to do Nordic Walking.

Summer tobogganing in Hochwurzen
Why wait until winter to toboggan? Drive down the 7 km/4.4 miles run in “Hochwurzen”. These sleds also have steering bars and brakes, which are surely used when going down the natural path (speeds of 40 km/h (25 m/ph) can be reached).

Golf
Bernhard Langer, Germany’s best known golfer, designed this 18-hole golf course. He describes this place with following words: “No matter how your golf works - the view of Dachstein, the adventure for your eyes, compensates and calmes down”. Play a round and see for yourself.

Skiing - Snowboarding
The central ski regions “Planai” and “Hochwurzen” are at the doorstep. More than 110 km/68 miles of slopes and 46 lifts offer a lot of fun. The so called “4-Berge-Skischaukel” (4 mountain ski link) connects the ski areas “Hauser Kaibling”, “Planai”, “Hochwurzen” and “Reiteralm”. Families find suitable ski regions at “Galsterbergalm”, “Fageralm”, “Stoderzinken” or “Raumsau”. If you like to ski on a glacier, go up the “Dachstein” glacier on 3000 m/9843 ft. (year-round skiing).
Snowboarders can compete at “Hochwurzen Playground” on 2 kickers, a rail-line as well as a curb box.

Cross-country skiing
If you like to do cross-country skiing, there are 60 km/37 miles of ski tracks through a romantic scenery. Without skis or snowboard, stroll along the 50 km/31 miles of prepared tracks or toboggan down the 7 km/4.3 miles nature toboggan run, which is illuminated at night.
